Of the most recent presidents who only won one term in the white house, who would win if they all faced off in a primary?

Note:  I do say of those who were elected to 1 term.   LBJ and Truman served more than 1 term but were actually only elected once themseves.

George H.W. Bush.

One conservative against four Democrats.

Hey.  I went with what history gave us.   I did one of these for the 2 termers, the 1 termers, and the no termers.   I can't help it if they have more democrats than Republicans.   I figgure anything before FDR, nobody would probably no much about.

If some sort of proportional voting or run off was put in JFK would win.

Jeez.   Sorry guys.  I only did ones from post WWII cause I figgured those would be the ones people were most familiar with.   I didn't know we'd have so many historians who would want to go back to the 19th century

Carter.  He got unlucky, and history has put in him a bad light, but he was an excellent man, and could've been an excellent president.

My ranking of how I would vote:

1. LBJ
2. Truman
3. JFK
4. Carter
5. Bush

I don't really dislike any of these presidents though.  I think Bush would have been a very good president, had he not been turned conservative by Reagan.

I think this is who WOULD win, not who you want to win.  After the Depression (regardless of whether or not you hold him accountable for it) he couldn't win a dog catcher election.  Sorry, but true.

Truman, although JFK would win anyway...being assassinated gets you a large sympathy vote.

No one sane blames him for the Depression today. Smiley

JFK would win in a landslide...simply because he is JFK.

Had he not been killed and become so popular He probably wouldn't be in contention.

I'd vote Kennedy then Carter.

I don't want to have this argument so I will neither agree or disagree that Hoover was guilt-free regarding the Depression.  But the perception exists since the Depression happened on his watch.  No way is he winning a general election.
