Madrid is a nice city but along with Mexico City it's in my opinion one of the worst of this list. Doesn't mean it's not a nice place to be (though my experiences there were not really that good
), it just means it's running against some impressive competition.
I would much rather eliminate one of the 4 cities of the list I haven't been to, but New York should stay some more rounds, Chicago is immune and Tokyo and Hong Kong haven't received any votes so it would be a waste if I voted for them now.
