I've elected to introduce this legislative proposal before the Pedestrian Encouragement Act because I expect this discussion to preface that debate nicely.
Simfan, I'm a great fan of the principles of New Urbanism, but I'd like to hear why you believe adopting an official urban planning philosophy would benefit the Northeast Region.

This New Urbanism seems nice, but why are we making it our official philosophy? I personally don't think we should be holding ourselves to an immutable standard, though it would be nice if we could all adopt the style.

I do not believe that we should have an official philosophy as to urban planning.
The Northeast is a very diverse region, and we should not confine ourselves to a one size fits all planning strategy, because, I do not believe that one size does fit all in this region.
We have to be adaptable and open to new and different ideas.

Simfan is MIA, and the consensus among the other Representatives is that this bill has no clear purpose. There's other legislation in the queue that requires our attention, so I'm requesting and granting an abbreviation of debate time. Voting will begin now and last until 24 hours have passed or all members have voted.
