That's a bit of an odd argument given that the 1960s were a time of unparalleled prosperity for ordinary people.

If Wilson had used all his political capital to push through 'In Place of Strife' in 1969, it is quite possible, maybe, that Labour would have become more economically liberal than the Conservatives in due course.

I often wonder what things would've been like had Lab gone economically liberal before the Tories, sort of like Oz in the '80s.
