Ah, interesting.  I'd say Sanders might be likelier to lead SEL.  Dean was a rigid fiscal conservative as governor of Vermont, after all.  Dean might be on the PD's left-wing, with Obama being a bit like Dario Francheschini, except as the leader.

I don't know much about Italian politics, but I can't see Barbour being in the center by any measure, except maybe in Poland.
