Thanks guys! It was a great birthday! My brother-in-law and his girlfriend chipped in and got me Skyrim for the X-Box, which I'm looking forward to playing.

Played through the tutorial last night to check it out... didn't spend any time on character creation, though, because I just wanted to play through it a little to see what it's like, so I'll probably restart the game when I know I've got time to sit down and work tweak my character a bit. It is such a great game! I've got a feeling I know what I'll be doing this weekend!!! I've been playing Oblivion quite a bit recently - bought the tenth anniversary edition a few months back.

I have been playing Oblivion as an Imperial, but I think I'll play Skyrim as a Nord. Last night I named my character Uhtred, after the main character in this series of books about the Danish conquest of Saxon England, but I might pick another name when I play "for real" over the weekend.

I was very impressed with the graphics - particularly the running water in the creeks and small waterfalls where they flowed over rocks.
