I wrote this one a while ago so it may need some review to ensure functionality. Might want to consider naming it something more kickass and less lame.

Basically, it is the realization of what's his face's idea about committees from a few months ago. We can experiment and see if we can't make something out of it.

When and exactly what process will be used to select senators?  I think that should be addressed by the bill.

Scott- I read it as the Senate electing the members. I propose the following amendment to make this more clear...

The President of the Senate shall open nominations for committee membership at the start of each session

I like this, although I'd like to see another committee for foreign affairs, which I'll introduce later as a separate bill.

Could you include the administration of the armed services under that committee?

I should have been more clear; it would an Armed Services/Foreign Affairs committee.

Let's get the Amendments through, first.

I think we should hold up on creating numerous spinoffs until we see how this one goes. If this works we can then spinoff various reponsibilities to other committees.

The amendment has passed.

The reason I put the President of the Senate in there was I had grand ideas of finding something else to bother the Vice President with. Evil

To partially mitigate the garrulous verbosity of this moniker, I humbly beseech the attention of the gallery to propose we abridge the name:

I object, since it includes the language from before my Amendment allowing the President of the Senate to name the Chairman.

Maybe, but first I have a question to ask.

Who is interested in serving on the committee? I am willing to serve as a member, but I don't really desire to be chairman, especially if I am PPT again, which is a decision that is yet to be made.
