though Young Tweed v. Department of Federal Elections has yet to reach a resolution -- and may well not go in our favor -- I much catch up to speed with my rival, Napoleon, who has built an enviable transition operation.  in preparation for the possibility of a victory in the Court, I am starting this thread as a Ground Zero for Year Zero™*, with full knowledge of the possibility events may prove it null and void.

the following is the prospective flag of the renamed People's Tweedist Republic of Atlasia.  suggestions and alternative proposals welcome.

I feel it gives proper reverence both to Marxism-Leninism in the left-hand corner, anarcho-syndicalism red/black, and Tweedism with the T.

further announcements coming.

*™ standing in this case for 'Tweed Mark'.

I'm proud to announce that former President Lief is going to be heading up the Ministry of Information, which will replace the office of Secretary of Internal Affairs.  Lief is the second ex-president in recent days to lend his hand to my cause, and I am eternally grateful.  more on the role and responsibilities of the Ministry will be revealed post-Court decision, when I will hopefully be able to release in earnest my plan for a transition to an M-L-T government.

The president-elect is Napoleon. If Tweed is made president, it will be through the Supreme Court. If you must, refer to him as President-Appointee.

Oh man, this is gonna be juicy! (Assuming that it leads to the civil war I've been waiting for)

As a representative of President-Elect Napoleon and as a member of his foreign policy team, these actions are looked down upon with dis-favor. Napoleon is the President-Elect, and the people have spoken. You should be ashamed of yourselves for attempting to replace it with a shadow government, unelected by the people of Atlasia. May Dave smile down upon our system the day this is put to an end.

Hey now, if Nappy has the right to say he's going to do this and appoint that and go on a yacht and whatnot, there's no reason y'all should be "looking down upon with dis-favor" on Tweed attempting to match that. Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves for attacking his statements on what he would do if the Supremes rule his way.

His office will still be illegitimate. I don't care if Tweed saves the world his first day in office; he wasn't elected. It's as simple as that

If the Court rules that Tweed is the legitimate victor then he is the legitimate victor, simple as that. It is emphatically the province and duty of the judicial department to say what the law is. If they say that the law is that Tweed is legitimate, then like it or not, that's what the law is. You may not like it, I may not like it, but it's the way it shall be. It's as simple as that.

This is a democracy, Mr. Joyce. If the Supreme Court overthrows a government chosen by the clear will of the people and installs a fringe lunatic, then the Supreme Court needs a good shaking. Tweed's lawsuit is in defiance of the people of Atlasia, and I will not stand for it!

Nice to see some people around here still believe in Democracy and the rule of law. SoEA SJoyceFla and myself may have large differences in outlook and political ideology, but we both respect the foundation of this republic, as we should.

So you're going to be all "Justice Ebowed has made his decision; now let him enforce it!"? I am of the understanding that the Supreme Court does not want to be shaken. Will of the people or no, the Supreme Court is the highest court in the land and has ultimate appellate jurisdiction. What do you plan to do if they rule as they voted?

Also, Tweedism needs a better logo than just a T, especially when it's a hammer & sickle (a fairly complex drawing) in the other corner. Maybe like an arrow or something, but writing on flags just doesn't really look good.

I haven't read everything. Why, again, is there a situation in which the court could rule Tweed the victor of the election?

Because Nappy lacks consciousness enough to comprehend something being fun due to advertisements, or some such thing. I don't really see how the Supremes could rule in favor of it,

It's like if Thomas Paine ran for president and lost, but sued based on the fact that he was the father of the American Revolution.

I would like to make my second announcement.  belgiansocialist is prepared to serve as Chieftain of Law (which will replace the Attorney General) in the event of my victory of the Supreme Court.  his knowledge and perspective on the law of the Republic is unparalleled, and makes him well-positioned to manage the transition to a People's Tweedist Republic.

Also I suggest incorporation of this image in your flag:

Maybe holding the hammer and sickle?

Mr. Senator, are you declaring that you are a Tweedist? I may have to disapprove of you in the next poll...

I'm pretty sure he's just offering suggestions on graphic design.

Nonsense! Well-done graphic design is a concern of all Atlasian citizens.

I am, of course, more than ready to use what little resources (intellectual and otherwise) I may possess for the greater good of this Republic.
