Romney will only win states where the majority of the voters are racists, e.g. Mississippi, Utah, Alaska, South Carolina and Alabama.

Because the only reason people vote against Obama is because they're racists? Not because he's been an awful President?

Racism is like religion in these states (in fact it goes with religion). These people will never thoughtfully evaluate how good Obama's presidency has been, they just think of his skin colour.

Why are there so many new trolls all of a sudden? Was it ever like this in the past?

Probably as its election year. Although I think FreedomFighter takes it to a whole new level. He makes kenyanobama look reasonable.

Maybe they'll start their own thread where they can keep themselves entertained.

The most racist areas of America are the ones where the Civil Rights Riots occurred in the 1960s.  Those areas are STILL the most segregated in America.  You should do some research.

Nah. Kenyan and Bandit are still in a league of their own. He makes WhyteRain seem like a normal, decent man who happens to be a conservative.

A question I've been meaning to ask:

My cousin is married to a brit, and he's a great guy, but he was visiting the states a few weeks ago and went on and on about racism in America.

Why are brits and Europeans so quick to criticize America for being racist when you have plenty of racism going on right now in your own backyard?

edit: Not all Europeans of course, just enough to catch my attention

Because our racism gets more press, and foreigners who weary of our chest-pounding on our exceptionalism and our 'city on a hill' rhetoric are quick to spot any chinks (and there are many) in our armor and waste no time trying to lower us down a notch -to their level.

It's like asking why everyone points out how racist Boston is when plenty of other places are just as racist. It's just the way things are.

Isn't the point of those observations 'given how well it votes'?   I mean it may be racist but it virtually never votes that way.

A vote for a Democrat is not always a vote for diversity and equality, even in Boston. The city is full of blue collar folks who vote Democrat as more of a legacy vote than a true adherence to Massachusetts style liberalism. Many of these men and women also voted for Ronald Reagan and Scott Brown.

But Boston isn't the focus here. Europe is experiencing a massive immigrant wave that they are not handling gracefully. IMO, America could actually teach the Europeans a few things on this issue. Our country has almost constantly recieved massive waves of immigrants and our culture is constantly being changed by the new Americans. Europe is not used to this. There is a much more set idea of what constitutes European culture, and people seem to be very uneasy about that changing.

Yet to some, Europe is still the picture of tolerance. Well maybe it's a lot easier to live up to that title in a homogenous country, but I'd say Europeans are failing this new test.
