Three states that are important early:

Virginia polls will close at 7 pm
Maine and New Hamp at 8pm

If by 9 pm:

1.  Obama wins all three, then he wins.

2.  Romney wins one, Obama two, then it's a close race.

3.  Romney wins two (or more), then the rout is on.

So you have a good chance at going to bed early knowing the winner.

What if we hit 9 PM and they've called Maine but NH and Virginia are not yet called?

Virginia will be called by then. Either for Romney or Virgil Goode, but certainly not for the Beast.

What is this "the Beast" sh*t?

Anyway, Romney must win all the McCain states, along with Indiana, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Colorado and Virginia, along with Nebraska's second district.

It's apparent what states Romney needs to carry.

- All the McCain states (180 EV)
- Florida (29 EV)
- Ohio (18 EV)
- North Carolina (15 EV)
- Virginia (13 EV)
- Indiana (11 EV)
- CO, IA, or NH (Either state will get him at or over 270 EV)

I think the fact that he thinks Virgil Goode has a better chance of winning Virginia than Obama is funnier than the fact that he calls Obama "the Beast."

Romney base: McCain states+IN+NC* = 206 EV
OH, FL, VA = 266 EV
Iowa is next most likely = 272 EV = Win

The rest is debatable.. but that's how Romney wins

*Disclaimer: By October I predict Romney will have a steady, consistent lead in NC to the point that Obama will not be contesting it

Not yet. Not all of us have all day to play on the computer. Some of us toil in fields, like our forefathers. Once I have time, I will make one. It may surprise you.

I'll go out on a limb and predict that you'll predict that Arkansas and all its neighbors are safe for the GOP.

Interestingly, I think I read that Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana were the last of the Old Confederacy states to have Democratic-majorities.  (Alabama and North Carolina going GOP for the first time since the infernal Reconstruction in 2010.)

Pretty sure a majority of registered voters in Kentucky, Louisiana, and West Virginia are registered Democrats (as well as in Maryland and Pennsylvania), while a majority of voters are registered Republican in only Wyoming.

First he has to pick up Indiana and NE-02; these will be the first to fall, and if they're tossups, it's over for Mitt (it probably also means he's down in Missouri and/or Arizona). Then would come North Carolina and Florida, bringing him to 235 electoral votes. Now he has to win Ohio and Virginia, taking him to 266. The remaining 4 will come from one of Colorado, Nevada, Iowa, or New Hampshire

As of today Romney has good leads in Missouri, Arizona, Indiana, NE-02, and NC.  He probably has a small lead in FL

Obama still has an edge in OH, VA, and IA, which is where the election will be decided.

I was referring to the legislative majorities of states subjected to Reconstruction.  That leaves out Kentucky and West Virginia.

Btw, for the past year and a half, more Americans have identified themselves as Republican than Democrat.  http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/archive/mood_of_america_archive/partisan_trends/summary_of_party_affiliation

Ah, legislative majorities. That makes sense then.

According to Gallup, it's split 45-45, and Gallup>Rassy.

Romney will only win states where the majority of the voters are racists, e.g. Mississippi, Utah, Alaska, South Carolina and Alabama.

Because the only reason people vote against Obama is because they're racists? Not because he's been an awful President?
