Prior to this she got a lot of favorable coverage in the western press, but of course she's nothing more than aristocrat who is married to a brutal thug and murderer. I don't think Assad is going down Gaddafi-style (too much of a coward, more likely to flee), but if he is it's not inconceivable to see that just as Gaddafi's son was killed with him and Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife.

To answer the question: no. I don't see why I should any more than the Syrian generals and government officials that have already been assassinated by the opposition.

The unique misfortune of the Palestinian refugees is that they are a weapon in what seems to be a permanent war...today, in the Middle East, you get a repeated sinking sensation about the Palestinian refugees: they are only a beginning, not an end. Their function is to hang around and be constantly useful as a goad. The ultimate aim is not such humane small potatoes as repatriating refugees.

Yes. You can't just go around murdering women who are guilty by association if you believe in any limits on violence.

No. I don't wish her to die, but she's not worth shedding a single tear.

Would I personally feel bad? No. I probably wouldn't even care to be honest.

Agreed, with the cavet that I would probably crack a smile if Assad himself was gunned down. Then I'd feel bad at cheering at a another person's death, but I would probably reflexively be satisfied with Bashar's death.

Nah, he needs to be captured alive, really. He must stand for his crimes for this to work out ideally.

But personally I wouldn't see much satisfaction in her death, or anyone's.
