Yesterday, when I was riding my bike, I was hit by a car (that was a bike road, you asshole, WTF have you been doing there in first place?), and spent the next 24 hours at hospital.

Because it was first time I've spent a whole night at hospital, I cannot resist making following observations: hospital food sucks, lying at bed whole time sucks badly, but if your roomates are cool, you man manage it.

And this is my poor bike

Sorry for the car! Sad

No, really, in all seriousness, that's horrible. Get better. I'll keep you in my prayers.

It's terrible news and I'm sorry to hear about the bike, but it's great to hear that you're still with us! Between the poor quality of hospital food and an irrational aversion to needles, I am always very highly motivated to get home as soon as possible. Hopefully you won't be going back there again any time soon. So get well soon, Kal, and definitely try to take it easy for awhile until you've entirely mended. D:

Incidentally, what kinds of injuries did you suffer? What's the outlook on your recovery time?

Thanks, Phil. Ironically, car suffered absolutely no damage.

Does polish hospital food include vegetable soup without salt? I hate that.

PS: Buy a Trek.

PS2: Your cam has the wrong date.

This is just war propaganda to promote Universal Healthcare.

According to Wiki, Poland already has UHC; only European countries that don't are Belarus, Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Turkey, and Cyprus, with Albania moving towards the system.

Jeez, Kal. My apologies. Hope it wasn't a hit and run.

You're right about hospitals. Yeah, they're clean and all. But other than that, miserable places to stay.

How does healthcare work in Poland? Does the government pay? A night in the hospital here in the US would cost thousands of dollars.

Hospital food is quite crappy, isn't it? The one time I had it, it was soggy toast, orange juice, and some sort of... slop? Quite a breakfast.

The U.S. is rather...let's say....unique.

Like in most (or all) EU countries, there is usually socialized medicine, meaning that the society pays for your medical problems.

PS: I hope you are alright, Kalwejt. Sry for your bike though.

In Poland they eat rats.
