He doesn't seem like such a nice guy. It's a shame that he died, because the death of someone so long-lived and experienced is always sad, but that Herut suff plus his (according to Wikipedia, which may or may not be right on this) actions with paramilitary groups and the assassination business (of Nazi scientists working for the Egyptians, but regardless assassinations all the same) seems to equal a fellow with a rather sinister legacy.

It is likely only because he was in detention at the time that he escaped becoming a war criminal by participating in the Deir Yassin massacre.  Not that would likely have kept him from becoming Prime Minister if he had taken part.
