aa can be helpful.   i did not start attending regularly until i was 2 years sober.  i wish i would have done it sooner.

i dont really work 'the program'.  and i find the platitudes annoying.  but the fellowship is nice.  ive met a lot of interesting and smart (and even successful) people there.

there are some self righteous yahoos there.  i just tune those people out.  i think the demographics of aa scares a lot of young people away.  i will be 35 next month and at most meetings i attend i am either the youngest in attendance or among the top 3 youngest.  lots of old farts.
