So Wales actually won a game. Against Scotland, so not really an achievement of any kind whatsoever, but hey...

Gareth Bale was really stellar. Gives me Champions League hope for Spurs.

hahaha USA beats Antigua by just 2-1
Canada wins 3-0 over Cuba. However, bad result in the other game in our pool as Panama and Honduras draw.

Cuba only had 11 players because the rest defected, lol
Canada still has a shot, but they'll need to get at least a draw in Honduras, which will be difficult. Possible, but difficult.
And in Europe, Germany won 1-6 so that was sweet. I assume Trappatoni will finally get the sack now.

Oh yeah you are right, there were 4 defections, lol.

I think we were without our best player (de Guzman) who will miss the next game as well.

If only those AS Romans could score like that in Serie A.... >.>
No thanks.
Bosnia drawing in Greece is also a big result. That should be their toughest match. Should be a nice fight between them, Greece and Slovakia for group winner and runner up.

We're up against Iraq away in a couple of days...
Draw is fine, loss is certainly not the end, but it'd be really nice to get a win.

Buffon picked up a minor muscular problem in training so he may be out for two or three days. He is doubtful for tomorrow but of course he'll be back in time for Napoli vs. Juve.
Though if he's out tomorrow, Napoli's De Sanctis will get the start. It would be nice to see him get some time.

Big matches today including France vs. Spain. Buffon officially ruled out for Italy-Denmark clash.

I'm genuinely concerned that we won't win in Tórshavn.
I am though quite hopeful that tonight will be our last game under Trapattoni. The last few months have been the worst Irish football of my lifetime.

Match of the day for me: Iceland v. Switzerland. Hoping for a Reykjavik upset and a surprise lift into group play. Obviously, it's hard to look past Spain v. France as the "marquee." Hell of a good day of football.

Russia just avoided a major embarrassment at home against Azerbaijan thanks to a penalty kick goal in the final minutes.

Australia come from behind to win 2-1 against Iraq. Nark Bosnich summed up a hopeless game quite well: ''Iraq were very bad and we weren't far off''.

I know it's unrelated but the U-21 Euro playoff round is wrapping up with a flood of goals. Italy is leading Sweden 3-2 in Sweden in the 90th minute and France is down 5-3 in Norway.

We play Kasachstan at home today, after sucking so badly away last week (only a draw).

Finally a tournament we qualified for (automatically as hosts, but still). I hope we will be able to hold our own.

Miroslav Klose is now just one goal away from tying Gerd Müller's record for most goals scored for Germany!

Denmark scores right before half time, ending my hopes for a De Sanctis clean sheet.
Italia - 2
Denmark - 1

Red card for Italy. Ugh. This could get ugly. Thankfully, the Czechs drew with Bulgaria.

3:0 now after 70 minutes.
2x Marc Janko and 1x David Alaba so far.
Pretty useless though IMO, because Germany and Sweden will win the group.
