I love the Olympics in several ways.  I'll touch on two main ways, the sports junkie in me loves the competition.  The political junkie in me loves that it provides a nice, 16-day respite of Democrats and Republicans rallying together behind Team USA before the nastiness of the home stretch to the Election begins.  (At least the Summer games).  I will be watching the Opening Ceremonies tonight at 6:30 pm CDT and I will be watching as much of the Games as I can over the next 16 days!

Can't wait for you Americans to see the NHS bit of the opening ceremony. Governor Romney must be terrified.

It won't be that big a deal.  Remember, Obama ran his loud mouth during "God Save the Queen".

This year, I have two nations to root for.  The United States of America and The Republic of Kenya.  I'm interested to see the track and field competitions for the Kenyans, especially.  I guess Soccer is going to be primarily aired on Telemundo, correct?  I haven't decided if I want to go to bed (which I should) or if I want to stay up until 4:00 and watch the competitions begin.

go to bed

That's what I'll probably do.  I've got a couple more loads of laundry to finish up and then I'll be hitting the sack, hopefully by 2:00.

CTV basically skipped France, which was annoying. Of course, giving the rights to CTV is a retarded idea.

CTV is a lot better than NBC.

NBC has horrible commentators.

I see that the two Brian Williams' are back again. (Well, I assume Williams is doing the NBC coverage). The one good thing about the CTV coverage was poaching our Williams from CBC. It wouldn't be the Olympics without him. Aaaaaalright *shuffles papers* it's 9:00 local time...

But yeah, it's still weird having to watch the Olympics on CTV. A network which I don't normally watch much of (but is the most popular network in Canada).

Actually, it was Bob Costas and Matt Lauer at the commentary.
