I mean physically, where has Christie been these past few days?

While he had a chair set for him at the committee table, he never showed up to any non-closed door meeting or talked to any corporate fellows or reporters. While the New Jersey SUVs where at the NGA, he wasn't seen. When he was to be named Vice-Chair, he called, Governor Fallin who was physically at the NGA

Then all of a sudden everyone starts saying Christie is going to be the keynote speaker.

Today he brought in money for Romney, but was late for a party fundraiser

I don't know, maybe this all means nothing. But I find it odd for Christie to be doing this, and I'm not one to think he's even on a long list of VP names

I read somewhere that Christie is notorious for missing things and keeping people waiting.

I would ask the scientists who just found that Pluto has 5 moons. They're good at finding these kinds of things.
