I was driven off early by a storm yesterday and didn't get a chance to get back on.

The election ended on the sixth at 1:52 PM EST.

The results are as follows.
TJ in Cleve has won 6-0
Scott has won 6-0
Seatown has won 6-0

Redalgo and Andrews votes were cast after the election ended.

Scott has anounced his desire to seek the Chairmanship?

If Seatown and TJ can chime in either announcing or supporting Scott, we can then vote on the matter.

We should start discussing a few things before Friday hits and we have a mess here.

Andrew, TJ and Seatown will be departing from our midst and Marokai Blue, BK, NVTownsend and Hagrid will be coming in.

For the committees, this will be a bit tricky because all three who are leaving are committee members. We may run into a problem with the voting again, especially if we have more then three running for each committee. Since the Vice President will be in charge of this mess (and I plan to PM him about this tomorrow or Friday) my recommendation is to switch to some kind of preferential voting in that situation.

There is one more slight oversight that we missed when we were cross checking the committee resolutions to ensure they functioned as similar as possible. The Government Oversight Committee Resolution (fitting place for an "oversight" Tongue), makes no mention of a renewal process at the beginning of each Senate, it just makes provisions for the replacement of leaving members. While my devilish side would like to take credit for this a masterfull scheme Evil, such wouldn't be the truth as it was purely a missed deviation (or was it? Evil). We can alter the resolution with a subsequent one, but not by Friday and the start of the new Senate. Ben and Scott aren't leaving the Senate hence creating the situation of a committee crossing over a Senate term with its previous membership and not getting reapproved. I don't know what there plans are regarding there continued membership in my subchamber of hell, so it may not be as acute a problem as it appears.

Now on the flip side, it is likely that current topic will carry over into the next Senate and thus avoiding an upheaval in the membership would be advantageous from the perspective of ensuring that it is finished in a satisfactory manner. So what do the current and soon to be Senators think about this matter?

I agree that a new resolution is probably going to be necessary here.  While we're at it, we may as well use it to make all the rules of the committees uniform, because I have a feeling the same problem exists for all three committee resolutions.

I think preferential voting is definitely the way to go for selecting new members.  Also, why don't all three of us resign from the GOR, so that we can vote for new members (who may turn out to be the old members)?

I'd support this idea.

Nope, I checked all three. You and ben including clauses such as "members are to be selected at the beginning of each Senate".

Sounds like a plan. When should the group suicide take place? If we are going to do this, then I want to the GOR to go first at being refitted, because it has unfinished business that will carry over and it would be advantageous for as short a disruption as possible.

When does the new Senate officially start?  I can resign within minutes of that, most likely.

The new senate starts at noon eastern standard time, which is 1:00 PM EDT if I am doing my math right.

Would it be possible to vote for the PPT while we select all of the committee members?  It would be nice not to spend half the session doing those things.
