Does anybody else on here play Civ V? I love it, especially post-Gods & Kings.

Haven't played it in awhile, but I've spent quite awhile playing it in the past.

I don't have Gods & Kings, but I got vanilla.  I got it when it first came out, played it for a bit, thought the AI was stupid when it came to fighting and went back to Civ4.  I go back to 5 every now and again, I've got a game going right now that I've been playing off and on for a couple of months.  One of the bigger mods (I forget the name).  The AI is better at fighting, but still pretty easy to beat.  You can take a force of 4 or 5 and destroy a nation with 20 units and 5 cities, without much effort.  Hell, one properly upgraded archer/crossbowman can take out a decent sized army by itself.

I still enjoy Civ4 more.  The mod I play, Cavemen2Cosmos, is freaking awesome.

^Hey, that sounds cool. V was my introduction to the game. As a kid I desperately wanted Civ III but never got it.

Unfortunately I'm on a Mac, so I can't do mods as far as I know, which sucks 'cause I've seen some cool looking ones. Specifically I would love to play on a map of Westeros.

The AI in vanilla does suck, you should think about investing in Gods & Kings or asking for it if your birthday is coming up. The introduction of religion adds a lot to the game, plus the AI was completely rewritten thank god. I have noticed that the AI is pretty incompetent military-wise if you're playing on an easy level. They start to get good around levels 4 and 5 (normal and hard, respectively).

So far I've only won one game on 5, it was with a science victory as Babylon.

Anyway I looove this game, obviously.

I still only have IV. But I'm a huge fan of IV and I think I might get V sometime. I used to play II and III as well and I've played Freeciv a couple times.

I also impulse purchased a Civ game for PS3 once...it was like $10 at half priced books. It is lame. Do not buy it.

Been meaning to get into it at some point.  I've decided I've played too much Civ3 (had it since 2001) and need to move on, but haven't gotten around to it.

Civ 3 is probably the worst game in the series.

Civ 2 really is the best of the series.
