I grew up watching him on "All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons" and consider his to have been one of the best American tv characters of the '70's and early '80's.

I love old sitcoms, and The Jeffersons was such a classic. Wish we had a more racially aware sitcom today. But the taboo rules have changed. Sad that most of the cast has moved on up.
