I think an Obama by 8 will is a likely outcome.  53-45

I suspect you are correct. Romney is well suited to perform well in North Jersey suburbs full of many Wall Streeters, but of course he won't advertise there.

I figure this will turn out to be Obama +10 on election day, very similar to the senate race. A very generic D vs. R result for New Jersey.

This is proably very accurate, and does nicely show the difference between RV and LV polls. Soon many other pollsters will switch to LV which should be a nice bump for Mr Romney.

If I remember from 2008 polls, NJ always looks like a low-hanging fruit which quickly becomes solidly Democratic; a similar thing occurs with Michigan and Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, Democrats always think this year is the year they can take Texas.

Say what? When's the last time a Dem even bothered with Texas? When Dukakis picked Bentsen?

Clinton tried to take it twice, and I believe it was briefly an option for Obama.

No. No, it certainly wasn't.
