tbh, I think I took the job too soon. My interest in the job flickers, and while I tried to do stuff originally, no-one was responding, and I've felt like I've lost interest in the job. It's also hard to understand the figures I need to allocate to areas.

Following this week's election, I will step down as the SoIA.

Are committee members satisfied with the answers from SoIA Morgieb?

Do the members have any questions for the President?

My only question for the President would be, What actions were taken when Morgieb vanished the first time and were any further efforts made when it happened again?.

I'd like to ask President Napoleon whether or not he contacted Morgieb about stepping down during his absence or when he returned? I'm also curious why, despite the continuous lack of activity, Napoleon hasn't "removed" him yet.

Keep in mind that a question posed by a none member, doesn't fall under the protection of the Contempt Act (unless I am missing something and I am very tired so that is possible) and thus may not be as respected as if it originated from a member. Just something to keep in mind for future reference.

I would be interested in seeing the answer to the Governors' inquiry, though.

Speaking of members, where are they? I feel lonely, here. Tongue

I admit I'm disappointed that the President, at least publicly, didn't seem to do anything when the SoIA disappeared.  If he took private action I'll retract my statement, but this was a significant problem, and it seems like the President did nothing to deal with it.

I am also curious as to why President Napoleon didn't ask for his removal, and I'm eager to find out who he will be picking for a replacement.

As to morgieb, I am satisfied with his response and I am glad that he chose to do the responsible thing and step down.

has been five days since the last question was asked of the President and no responses have been posted. I hope it is just because of the election.

Mr. President

Do you have a response to the question posed by Senator Scott and myself about what actions were taken when Morgieb became innactive?

I call bull[inks].  A member of your Cabinet actively failed in his job for your entire term.  We deserve an explanation for how this happened, and what you did to handle it.

When I clicked on this thread and waited the usually five second dial up delay, I saw a blank white background with big bold lettering. It said, "EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE".

Then the site loaded.

I hate it when that happens. Roll Eyes

I will begin to form the questions for a recommendation vote.

While I am doing that, perhaps we should discuss what statement to make regarding the President's Stonewalling of our investigation.

Cloudy white visions for me typically are so because usually they involve certain...ah...activities.

This one was boring and unfortunate. Tongue

Recommendations

The committee has unanimously agreed to the following regarding the investigation into Morgieb's activity and job performance:

Part I:
That the Secretary having taken office, proceeded to engage in little activity and eventually a complete absence lasting for the bulk of his term in office. That he then returned and engaged in a slim level of activity before once again becoming unavailable and "functionally nonexistant". This tenure of absention had a significant, negative impact on the Regions and the Federal Goverment by disrupting the interaction of the Regional Executives with the Department of Internal Affairs, and thus obstructing the implementation of federal programs and policies.

That the committee's inquiries to the President having been ignored, no action or response on the part of the cabinet members or the President himself can be established as having occured and therefore, without knowledge otherwise, we can only contend that nothing was done as a means to push Morgieb or replace him as Secretary at any point during his absences, by the Administration as a whole or the President personally. This assessment is the result of the Committee being obstructed and abused by the Executive Power in a deliberate attempt to avoid potentially embrassing or otherwise inconvenient information being released, regarding the Administration's response to this situation.

Part II:
As a means of resolution, this committee recommends that Secretary Morgieb be replaced at the earliest possible opportuinity, by any means that are legal to do so. So that the Department of Internal Affairs can be restored to a state of functionality and that the regions may proceed with implementing their aspects of federal programs and that the Federal Government's policy proceed with implementation.

That in all future such instances, the President should hold his people accountable and seek to restore the activity of inactive cabinet members, or proceed with finding suitable replacements should "activity restoration" attempts prove futile. These measures should also be pursued after only a short period of inactivity on the part of the official in question, and not let sit such a situation for so long a period of time as has existed with the Secretary in question. Such applies especially to the position of the SoIA, which is an office of such critical import to the Federal and Regional Governments with regards to the implemenation of programs, that inactivity of whom can produce waves of inactivty cascading throughout the government, as has been witnessed with the inactivity of SoIA Morgieb.

Finally the Committee recommends that the level of cooperation on the part of the President here, not be repeated. The committee process exists to probe problems and find solutions and if they are to succeed, it is essential that they be respected by those the committee is tasked with overseeing and investigating. We strongly urge that the President state as a part of the public record, just what actions if any were taken to address this problem and at what points they were pursued.

When this committee gets back up and running, I want to proceed with the discussion on the committee startup procedures. Yes we passed the "Get it Over With Resolution", but I still think there will be concerns going forward and certain further aspects that will need to be addressed if we don't wnat these to become a mess again The biggest one is selecting and establishing a clearer voting procedure, when if memory serves me, wasn't really addressed in that resolution.

Then the next topic is the wiki.
