Not an endorsement I'd be eager to pocket.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm praying for another black-yellow majority, and for the SPD to get shattered.  It's exactly what it deserves.

Agreed for anywhere but Massachusetts. Bloomberg has become synonymous with big-government nanny-statism. Though in a state like Massachusetts, that could win him votes.

Net positive for Brown, of course -- it meshes well with his public image.

It'd be bigger for Brown to get Mayor Menino's endorsement, though...  Wink

That's not really the case. In Massachusetts, Bloomberg is a symbol of New York.

Granted, an endorsement of this kind is not the sort of thing that'll hurt Brown either.

Professor Nathan: A shameless agrarian collectivist with no respect for private property or individual rights. Can you really trust him?

It's like one minute you're preaching from the pulpit at some exceedingly dull church; the next you're a giving a Womens' Studies lecture at Berkeley.

The fundraiser is really the most important part of this story. Bloomberg's presence means it'll draw anyone with NYC business connections out of the woodwork to give to Brown. $5,000 is a small price to pay to be able to talk to the mayor about a $2 billion project, after all.
