It has been being discussed if we might have a gay president one day.
But what about female homosexuals? We haven't even been governed by a female head a state.
Is it useful at this point to discuss the installation of a lesbian president?

It obviously depends on the person, but I honestly think we will see a openly lesbian President before a gay male President.

That's true. Female Politicians aren't usually considered Feminine (i.e. Hillary or Janet Napolitano) so having a Lez president wouldn't be strange. A Gay Guy President would be unorthodox due to the fact Men are supposed to be traditionally masculine.

There are a fair amount of gay male politicians in the world that have relatively masculine images, like Klaus Wowereit.  Plus, even the ones that are more on the feminine side, like Nichi Vendola, tend to play it to their advantage.  And Tammy Baldwin, for example, has a vibe that's in some ways more feminine than some straight female American politicians like Elizabeth Warren or Hilary Clinton, oddly enough.

While Margaret Thatcher is heterosexual, many of the qualities that attracts American conservatives to her has been what are, arguably, masculine qualities, e.g. the ability to make war.  I could see a lesbian president in the same mold, quite easily.
