Palm Beach and Broward, FL (Miami)
Durham and Chapel Hill, NC (Raleigh)
Montgomery, PA (compared to NE Philly, at least on social issues)

Lincoln Heights, Ohio (Cincinnati)

I wouldn't consider Durham a suburb

I don't really consider it a suburb either--I guess I should have said smaller cities outside larger cities within the same Metro area.

Add Bucks and Delaware, PA along with Camden, Gloucester, Burlington, NJ on social issues as well.  IMO, NE Philly is the most socially conservative place in the Philly metro area, but while KP will disagree with me, I'd consider it socially moderate.

durham isnt a suburb at all.  it is a crime-ridden hellhole.  it is a minature atlanta, new orleans, dc, etc.  full or urban blight, vacant/sub-standard housing and 13 year old girls who get shot at parties.

chapel hill isnt a suburb either. it is a college town.

the suburbs of raleigh would be apex, clayton, fuqay-varina, cary, wake forest-rolesville

Parts of Durham are awful, though parts are very nice.

Yolo County, California (Sacramento)

The only cities with more liberal suburbs are cities that are not liberal. Seattle voted 80% Democrat, and has some suburbs that voted 70% Democrat - it nearly always falls behind.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Vashon is more liberal than Seattle. I remember when you posted the King County results you accidentally merged it with White Center and maybe some other places, but even then it was 81% Kerry, which is what Seattle was...Did you ever get the Pierce County results?

Southwest Durham is also very nice. (I live 5 miles from there.)

Central London is pretty conservative. Loads of it's suburbs are way more liberal.
