« Edited: November 22, 2016, 03:11:24 AM by Old School Republican »

Governor Old School and Senator Goldwater stun the political world by dispatching all the front runners in the race and a battle between two centrist ensure. Goldwater attacks Governor Old School for opposing traditional republican foreign policy while Old School goes on the offense attacking Goldwater healthcare plan by calling it more liberal then obamacare. With the business establishment putting their support behind the Governor while the Senator gets support of the foreign policy establishment.

With Old School winning Iowa and New Hampshire the nomiantion was expected to be his but Goldwater makes a comeback winning SC and tying Old School in Nevada. On Super Tuesday Old School dominated the more business  establishment friendly northern primaries , but was decimated in every southern state not named texas. Pundits were wondering if this race was a repeat of the 2008 democratic primary where Goldwater taking the place of Obama dominated the smaller states, while Old School taking place of Hillary dominated the more larger industrial  states.

The Polls began to look bad for moderate hero as goldwater was surged in midwestern states such as Michigan. In the debate though Old school took the momentum back when he challenged Goldwater on his previous support of universal healthcare and promised to build infrastructure in this country before any countries. This proclamation allowed Old School to sweep the entire midwest, and even win states like flordia. After Super Tuesday 2 to Super Tuesday 3 Goldwater once again one every state by massive landslides except the big ones such as Wisconsin and New York.

On Super Tuesday 3 Old School was able to sweep New England due to his ties to both the big and small business community which was very prominent there. Goldwater after the losses instead of giving a concession speech slammed Old School saying he opposed Bush throughout his administration and claimed he would not be able to deal with foreign policy issues well. Old School unable to respond to hit hurt him badly as Goldwater won massively in all the states leading up to the final primaries except Old school home state of Oregon.

After the final debate which saw Goldwater attacking Old School for being to inbed with the current system while Old School attacked him for wanting a return to W Bush era which decimated our party.

With California going for Goldwater , the news media declared that they can project that the republican convention will be contested

RFayette - 318
Scott - 220

After a nasty and tumultuous campaign (of which social issues are the primary differentiation between the two candidates, notably gun control, abortion, religious liberty, and immigration), RFayette ekes out a victory, albeit with Scott nearly tying him in the popular vote.

RFayette (R-CA) - 318 EVs
Goldwater (D-CA) - 220 EVs

The election is essentially a repeat of 2016, with RFayette being a more likable verson of Donald Trump, and Goldwater being like Hillary Clinton with more appeal in the west but significantly less appeal everywhere else.

Rep. Evergreen runs an insurgent campaign in the Democratic primary against initial favorite Sen. Xing. Xing, who was preparing for a moderate challenger, is caught unprepared for a challenge from further to the left, and Evergreen prevails.

This would be a weird primary. The progressive and moderate/conservative candidates would have to be either really bad or totally cancelling each other out. I suspect it'd be a campaign based almost entirely on personality, with very little about policy, not too dissimilar from the 2008 campaign.

OSR: 270 EV
LDS: 268 EV

It was a close battle, with lots of open states. But in the end, Business Executive Oswald Ramarhkrishnan's [R-OR] YUGE warchest and PAC money still managed to deliver the key states of  Minnesota, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Maine, Ohio, and Georgia, despite the rigorous efforts of the high energy CA-2 Congressman Larry Smith [D-Lakeport] who refused anything but a bunch of small donations.

Running on a socially libertarian, economically moderate and pro-free trade platform, Virginia Senator Tom Parrotstein attempted to defeat popular frontrunner California Senator Larry Smith for the Democratic nomination. Despite gaining traction with the black and moderate voters, as well as attracting moderate Republicans and independents to the primary, he fell short by quite a sizeable amount of delagates. He fought all the way to the convention, where he intended to make a play for the VP spot (can I has VP pweety please?).
