2016:

Senator Scott (D-CT)/Governor Jerry Brown 281EV (D-CA) 50.8%
Governor Madman (R-IN)/Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) 257EV 49.2%
In a close election determined mostly on the candidates' stand on economics, as they agreed on many social issues, Sen. Scott eeked out a narrow win. Factors included: The name of Governor Madman, is he a madman? And Scott's experience and moderation. Madman made inroads in deeply conservative states, and came close in Colorado and Iowa. Overall a clean fight.
