In the form of a Democratic primary, based on the 2008 schedule:

Former Governor Snowstalker (D-PA), a populist-leaning left-winger, takes the Iowa caucus. However, the more fiscally moderate but social issues-focused Senator Scott (D-CT) wins New Hampshire. After Snow's easy victory in Michigan and Scott's slightly closer win in Nevada, it becomes a clear two-man race. Snowstalker's coalition of blacks and the remaining rural white Democrats wins him South Carolina. Hoping that his minority and poor white coalition can work in Florida (especially being a Cuban-American), he swings south, but Scott's better fundraising and numbers in Central and the non-Cuban areas of South Florida win him the day.

Super Tuesday is probably a win for Scott. Snowstalker sweeps the South and parts of the Midwest and Southwest, but Scott sweeps the Northeast and the key battlegrounds of New York and California.

Showing that he isn't just the out-of-touch blueblood that the Snowstalker campaign tried to pin him as, Scott makes some inroads into rural primaries before March, and seems to have the momentum.

Texas is a big win for Scott, though Snowstalker fights on until June, winning Puerto Rico, but Scott claims a bare majority of delegates in the South Dakota and Montana primaries.

Once again, Democratic primary.

Though the lefty candidate Snowstalker is favored by the base (or at least the more economically-leftist base), Thomas has a wider geographic base of support, as well as support from most of the Democratic establishment. Snowstalker takes Iowa, Michigan (labor support), and Nevada (labor plus Hispanics), but Thomas D nabs New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida. Super Tuesday favors Thomas D; though both take many states, D wins the big ones. After sweeping on March 4th (except a narrow Snowstalker victory in Ohio), Snowstalker drops out, but still wins PA.

Whoops, forgot the EV totals, but you win. Lots of Southerners defect due to your libertarianism and bisexuality (this combined with my Southern strategy flips some states), but a weak economy leads to the downfall of the left-wing Snowstalker campaign.

Pennsylvania Gubernatorial Election, 2014

Treasurer Koenkai-50.7%
State Senator Snowstalker-49.3%

With Koenkai seen as a moderate, Snowstalker runs a left-wing campaign exciting Hispanics in Southeast Pennsylvania and cutting into blue-collar Appalachian areas. However, Koenkai's strong numbers in suburban and most rural areas give him the edge.

Despite a labor/netroots-backed insurgent campaign from Governor Snowstalker (D-PA), the establishment candidate Scott (D-VA) clinches the nomination fairly easily.
