Unfortunate sign of today's hyperpartisan atmosphere. 

True, even though I can't fault for the Dems for not inviting him after he campaigned for McCain in '08, you'd think the Republicans would have a spot for him after everything he did.

If Joe wants a slot at the Pub convention, he needs to endorse Mittens. KISS.

I dissent from the Joe bashing on this thread btw. We have enough hyper partisans in Congress, and the slots are all filled.

Joe filled a unique position of being a hyper partisan for his own brand. Ben Nelson is a centrist but he does it by voting against his party or making compromises, not by going on Sunday talk shows to make tendentious, sanctimonious criticisms of his colleagues. It was the way Joe did it and the reek of sour grapes that makes him so widely disliked.
