The International Criminal Court came into being in 2002; it is a permanent tribunal established to prosecute individuals for genocide and other serious international crimes. Although Atlasia signed onto the Rome Statute during the Clinton administration, it has never been ratified (nor has it been submitted to the Senate for ratification).
Recognizing this agreement - which contains a guarantee to due process and fair treatment - will strengthen an international institution that promotes the spread of peace and universal recognition of basic human rights. As a leader in the global community, we must promote the rule of international law. In the service of this goal, we can accept nothing less than full participation and cooperation with the International Criminal Court.

Sounds good, Yankee.
Edit: I
really
hope that the lack of discussion here indicates that this will pass unanimously.
