Statement from Winfield

[LINCOLN REPUBLICAN]

After considerable thought and deliberation, I have decided that I will not be seeking reelection to the Northeast Assembly in the upcoming August elections.

I have held elective office in the Northeast for some time now, and I have enjoyed serving the people of the Northeast, and in serving alongside the many colleagues over my time in public service.

I have served briefly as Lieutenant Governor, have served as Governor, have been a Representative in the Northeast Assembly multiple times, have been a candidate for President, and most recently have represented Atlasia on an overseas mission.

I wish to express my thanks to my colleagues with whom I have served and wish the Northeast and Atlasia well now and for the future.

May I ask what motivated you to make this decision?

I believe I could be reelected to the Asembly in the August elections, however, this is a decision I made awhile ago. 

I have been an elected official for some time now, and quite simply, at this point in time, I no longer have the interest in the game one should have in order to make a meaningful contribution.

This is a sad day for Atlasia. I think you did a good job representing the moderate/conservative perspective in the Northeast so you will be missed. However, I understand your decision since you, Mr. Romney, should focus your energy on more important tasks now.

I remember appointing you Lieutenant Governor of the Northeast, which I believe launched your political career in the Northeast Region.  I have  very much enjoyed working alongside you in the Assembly.
