Obviously, I'd try to start out subtle, attending meetings of various "Free Ireland" and "End the Monarchy" groups. After that, I'd move onto speaking engagements for said groups until it finally became so humiliating that I'd be recalled and made Ambassador to Russia or something (at which point I'd switch from republicanism to anti-communism as my main talking point).

I'd just keep reappointing you to different countries until we found one where you wouldn't cause an international incident and then keep you there until six months before I left office. When I'd move you back to Britain.
