Both seem to be in support of ending or at least altering the extensive system of corporate handouts in this country with a lot of crossover on the issue. At the same time, both have supported bailouts, increased military budgets, lower corporate taxes, etc. Different estimates put the cost at as high as $2 trillion. This seems to be right in the thick of the narratives of both parties, so who's gonna solve the problem?

Neither party is remotely willing to take major or actually capable of taking even tiny steps in such a direction.

US "parties" are just organized groups of special interests to begin with.

To the extent that it happens, it will be some of each, with Democrats leading on some industries and  Republicans on others.

The Democratic Party is currently a centrist organization with no vested interest in ending corporate welfare. Until the progressives grassroots find a way to take control within the party (like grassroots conservatives did with the Republicans in 2010), there will likely never be a well organized legislative effort to get rid of corporate welfare.

It is a misunderstanding of the system to think of anything corporate as anything but welfare.  Capitalism is nothing but transfer by the force of the State from the workers to the owning elite.

Neither the fundamentalist "Republican" wing nor the more pragmatic "Democratic" wing of the Corporate Party of America will ever dare defy their shared paymasters.

Silly rabbit, no one is going to end corporate welfare, and that's not a bad thing.

These, with the possible exception of the middle one, are simply good economics. Corporate Welfare is the practice of subsidising industry with tax money, often when it is unprofitable. Right-wingers should be the ones clamouring to end this burden on peoples wallets.

Yeah sure, I can see that. After all, how on Earth would those pitiful oil companies survive without the government starving itself to death on its behalf? Same with the poor, poor financial industry who have been absolutely ravaged by OUTSIDE forces. Forget small business where profits more directly affect employment and local economies. Corporations are clearly the godsend to this country with their ever-expanding hoards of American cash. Without those stagnant hoards and fabricated wealth cashed multiple times against the public, how would the economy even run? On a capitalist free market? Haha

Neither. As the global environment becomes multipolar, the free market politics of the last four decades will recede and be replaced by controlled markets and heavy state intervention as is typical in Asia today. Corporate welfare thus will be expanded to new levels, by both Democrats and Republicans trying to outcompete with China and the German-led E.U.

Those who donate to political campaigns will always get welfare money. That's why we need to put a ban on all corporate and union donations.

Bingo. I would only add that it should be written into the Constitution.
