Just so people know, Simfan is overseas on behalf of my administration so please forgive him for his absence.

Good luck to all the candidates, this is a great group and I look forward to seeing this debate continue. Smiley

Ah, yes, I forgot that he had an in-game excuse in addition to his RL one.

I have a question for the candidates: should you be elected to the Assembly, what will you do to promote job creation and help new businesses grow in our region?  Do you favor enacting new programs that would make this possible?  If so, what might they be?

Thanks, Scott, I'll add that to my list for the next round. If anyone else has questions that they want addressed, feel free to post them. The candidates will also field questions from the public directly in the debate thread later this week.

3. If the Northeast government owns any liquor stores, I would propose selling them off to private companies.

Good idea!

But, I already proposed this as the End to Alcohol Control Act, signed by Governor Winfield. Wink

If we want to ask other candidates questions, are we allowed to do so in the debate itself?

My plan is to allow free-form discussion among the candidates during the questions-from-the-public segment.

FOR ALL CANDIDATES: Should you be elected to the Assembly, what will you do to promote job creation and help new businesses grow in our region?  Do you favor enacting new programs that would make this possible?  If so, what might they be?

--Well, this seems like a bit of a trick question, because the phrases 'job creation' and 'helping businesses' have often been used as secret right-wing code words for 'cutting [insert things conservatives don't like]. I do, however, support small businesses and jobs (who doesn't?), and will support any fair job-creation measure that comes to the floor.

I assure you, I am not a right-winger. Tongue

Another question for the candidates: As you all know, the recent shootings in Colorado and Wisconsin have spurred a national debate over how the government should handle crime and whether or not stricter gun control laws should be implemented for means of preventing future massacres.  If elected to the Northeast Assembly, what will you do to address the issue of crime in the region?  Would you support any new gun legislation?
