Wisconsin polls have been really consistent, haven't they? I don't see the scenarios where Wisconsin saves the Republicans if they drop OH or VA. Indeed I see 4-5 states right now being almost right at the national average. OH, VA, CO, IA and perhaps NH. If the race is basically tied on election night, we are going to be in for a hell of a month of fighting about recounts.

Certainly there is no arguing with a Marquette poll. Paul Ryan will be required to blaze a path of victory.

I can see Ryan helping by a couple points but that just puts us in '00/'04 territory or slightly more Democratic. That's not so much blazing a path of victory as eking out a statistical tie, regardless of who'd get the EVs in that situation.

Ryan will close the gap here ...

I'm expecting the next WI polls to show a tie.

Indeed. PPP showed Romney-Ryan trailing Obama Biden in Wisconsin just 47-46% in their July 11th poll. http://argojournal.blogspot.com/2012/07/poll-watch-ppp-d-wisconsin-2012_11.html
