Another edgy swing state.

Too close to call. It will come down to the choice of veep by Romney, e.g Rubio, Romney victory 51%-46%.

Probably Romney. The "deep Southern" areas of Northern and Central Florida have a lot of demographic pull.

Romney is probably at his floor right now, and Florida is still close. Florida should go for Romney.

How long will this endless torture go on of thread after thread inquiring just who is going to win a given state, as if one could possibly do more than made a rather wild guess? Just asking, and I don't mean to pick on Snowstalker per se. His thread is just the straw that broke the camel's back for me.

Seriously. This sort of thread should be restricted to the last week before the election.

In 2008, FL was R+2 relative to the nation. With Ryan I expect it to be more like R+1 or even. Combined with a rising latino population the state looks very promising now.

60-40 Obama.
Why do people consider Florida a swing state? It's not.

If anyone seriously thinks this changes the whole dynamic in Florida they need to get their head examined. This isn't going to shift the race here more then it shifts it anywhere else. Florida is far from leans-D let alone safe-D and is still more Republican then the nation. I still believe Mitt will win here and eagerly await polls confirming that.

What percentage of Florida is over 65, and how does that compare to other states?
I realize that's how Florida is generally stereotyped, but what are the actual numbers?

Romney's only advantage over Obama is among the Olds. If the Romney/Ryan ticket splits with the over 65 gang, we're going to see an Obamaslide.
If he wanted to play it close to the vest and lose, he should have gunned for the indies. He would have still lost, but it would have been respectable.

There are no indies, only 4% or so are undecided. Most of the olds voting for Romney will hear all the praises lavished by talk radio on Ryan way before they pay attention to Obama ads, and if the Romney campaign hasn't already started planning damage control for old people then they deserve to lose.

Undecided!=Independent.
You're talking to an independent right now.
I've been listening to those same praises sung for Romney for over a year now. I'm waiting for him to finally show up instead of getting his lunch eaten by Obama.
