Did I not predict that Mutt Rhymney's running mate would be a 'sociopath in a bad suit'?

Very true

YeeeeeesssssSSSSssss!!!!!

This is great for so many reasons.  Saving the country shouldn't be ignored, but in a political sense the conservative movement/republican party now has the best possible face on it.  How many presidential tickets is Ryan going to be on?  3? 4? 5?  Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

I'll repeat this from the other thread because there will be some talk about this in the next few days and how it will affect the vote in Virginia: For Romney to come to Virginia to announce a pick who's not McDonnell would be incredibly bad form.

Yes! Called it! I woke up this morning, casually checked my Guardian iPhone app, and voila, top story, Paul Ryan is to to be Romney's running mate!

Ryan is an excellent choice if I may say so, he is very popular with conservatives, plays well in the key states of Wisconsin and Iowa, boosts the economic credentials of the ticket. Oh, and he is competent. I can't wait for the VP debates, Biden vs. Ryan will be an absolute treat!

Okay, I better stop. I'm getting giddy now. Romney/Ryan 2012!

And the first time since my father's generation in which none of the four national candidates have ever worn our uniform.... I appreciate the "bold" aspect of this pick but it is certainly not what I had hoped for

In other news- congratulations, Romney/Ryan 2012!

Interesting choice - although playing well with conservatives doesn't get you the White House on its own.

The GOP wants another crazy veep candidate who is guaranteed to scare moderates and overshadow the ticket head? Works for me. Once people learn about the Ryan budget, this will almost certainly help us win back the House.

I'm skeptical that this helps electorally but I'm well aware that the Romney campaign has more information about that than I do.
