As some of you already know, I'm flying to San Francisco tomorrow, and will spend a whole academic year there. As a result of settling down and doing everything I need to do upon my arrival, it's likely that I won't have any time for forum life during several days. If I log in, my activity will probably be extremely reduced and I'll try to focus it on running my survivor and things like that. Even when I'm settled down and back on routine life, it is likely that I will spend much less time on the forum than I've done in the past 3.5 years, and more to having a social life (at least so I hope Tongue). So, well, that's a goodbye of some kind. Smiley

That's excellent, Antonio. Enjoy the experience.  If I had it to do over again and had had the money at the time, I definitely would have done an abroad component.

San Francisco's a nice enough city, but my own advice to you is to try and visit Yosemite National Park at some point. It isn't that far away (it's been 4 years and my memory is hazy, but as I recall it's a 2-3 hour drive) and is amazing.

Welcome, but there's no need to feel rushed to come back. At the moment, the forum is littered with Romneytards being obnoxious little douchebags. You aren't missing anything.

Met Xahar today ! We had a really nice discussion about our lives, political stuff, and the forum, all while eating mexican food or walking around the city. He showed me the baseball stadium (AT&T park, LOL Tongue).

In other news, I had my first class today. Introduction to Political Theory. The prof looks very nice and the course sounds interesting.

Students and staff members are all extremely nice as well, even people I don't know. Really, everybody is always nice to an extent I'm not used to. The city's beautiful, too. Smiley

I suppose you're studying in Paris?

Yup. Tongue

Don't take me wrong. Profs, students and staff members in Sciences Po are very nice as well, but it's different. I think it's easier to start discussing with complete strangers here in the US.

Good news, I've got enough free time to keep up with the forum and post some useless one-liners. Tongue Though not able to be as active as I was in the previous days, of course.

I doubt I can go tell every girl I meet on the street "Hey, by the way, do you know Gaël, that crazy political nerd who kept pestering you about the results of French legislative elections in the canton of Trifouillis-Les-Oies while you were doing your internship ?". Wink

Back to France!

I still have weird sleeping times, but my sleep was pretty chaotic in SF as well (lots of all-nighters or almost-all-nighters to finish the finals). It's good to be home. Smiley
