I've always wanted to do this sort of thing, but unfortunately I haven't got the intelligence or the capacity to write a full blooded timeline like some of the masterly works one here such as Cathcon's A Second Chance. So I'll just do some less detailed timelines on here just for the fun of it.

Now I just have to think of where to start.

I have it!

1884

The election of 1884 was a struggle between the two competing philosophies of James G. Blaine and Grover Cleveland. Cleveland was a free trader, Blaine a staunch protectionist. The campaign was very close, however Blaine managed to win the electoral vote, but lost the popular vote.

Former Sen. James G. Blaine (R-ME)/Senator John A. Logan (R-IL): 218: 4,854,031: 48.3%
Governor Grover Cleveland (D-NY)/Former Gov. Thomas Hendricks (D-IN): 183: 4,864,081: 48.4%

(this is just the post to kick off the timeline. I'm going from the basis that "Rum, Romanism and Rebellion" never happened)

Cool stuff! Sad to see Cleveland go down, but we'll see where this is headed. (and thanks for the mention. Wink)

There are things that go on outside this board. In other, far different boards, people do things far different than post timelines. When certain opinions are voiced, especially when it comes to racial views, the mods tend to react after a certain period.

But there's this thing called the first amendment:

I was unaware that Congress made a law banning Rhodie.

There's also something called property. Dave bought this url address, and so he has the right to restrict whoever he wants to step on his property. He, being a rather busy person, has the mods be his security guards for him.
