public hearing re: the Torie-Moderator gambit

I have a few questions from the public for Torie to answer.
1. do you support the sentiment of other Moderators, such as Al, who personally claim they do not use infraction points as a tool for Moderator, or such as Inks, who has claimed he would like to see the system replaced?
2. you have stated that you rarely yourself have been the recipient of infraction points. do you feel that your lack of experience with feeling the blunt end of the stick will impact your ability to wield it?
3. why do you want to join the ranks of the Moderation team?

First I am not a Mod, and may never be one. However, I would be happy to answer your questions if the Mods think it appropriate (although I am kind of surprised you don't already know, or could not infer, the answers). They never asked me about these matters however. And in general, I don't recall the Mods stating in detail their style of moderating, as opposed to just having a style, which might evolve over time. I don't know. Particularly in as much as I am not yet a mod, and it is all quite speculative, I feel it particularly appropriate that I follow their wishes and rules on this matter. I am making inquiries. Thank you.

What is the point of this line of questioning? All you have to do to understand what kind of moderator Torie would be is read his posting history. He's constantly offering his opinions on how he would moderate, so none of this is a secret.

so you're already cow-towing to the party line. quite a prospect.

Given that Dave hasn't responded to my requests, this is likely a moot point. I will point out regarding point three that Steve never asked to be a mod as far as I know.

Nothing against Torie, but, where do we actually need another moderator at this point?

Individual Politics lacks an active mod, as Alcon is only on periodically and Lunar is gone.

Seems like a good time to combine it with Political Debate and let Beet handle them both.

The unique misfortune of the Palestinian refugees is that they are a weapon in what seems to be a permanent war...today, in the Middle East, you get a repeated sinking sensation about the Palestinian refugees: they are only a beginning, not an end. Their function is to hang around and be constantly useful as a goad. The ultimate aim is not such humane small potatoes as repatriating refugees.

Which, of course, would also require Dave's intervention.

I've already tried faking it. It doesn't work. The app is too smart for that. I can't drive 3 mph, plus I would clog traffic.

Beet's not much of an active mod supposedly (which is not necessarily a bad thing, certainly preferable to someone like Inks.)
