How would you people with football knowledge rate the chances of Austria destroying Germany in the 2014 qualifiers on Sept. 11 ?

First full round of German Cup going on right now. Hoffenheim trailing 2-0 at a fourth division side. Cheesy
EDIT: Make that 3-0. This is a couple of minutes before halftime.

Those of us in the U.S. have the pleasure (well, those of us with nothing better to do right now) of watching the Lief-Al Derby. Right now, Al is surely the happier of the two.

Nah, we'll score eventually. Clearly playing better, Cazorla is looking really fantastic, Podolski needs to settle in a bit.

There's always something wonderful about frustrating Arsenal into a 0-0 draw.

4-0 in the end. And Fürth (just promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time ever) lose 2-0 in Offenbach after getting both left fullbacks sent off - one of them came in as a substitute after the loss of the first.

Great news! Serie A starts in a few hours.

Horrible news! It was just confirmed that Serie A matches have vanished from FSC because some new network (not yet available outside of DirecTV and DiSH network) bought the broadcasting rights. I'm livid. I knew something was up when I went through the guide earlier in the week to check which games would be covered this weekend and didn't see anything from Italy.  Sad

Napoli had to open the season away to Palermo. No problem though: a beautiful 3-0 spanking. We sit atop the table (with Inter) on goal difference.

Why do we support the same teams? Anyway, 3 points from Spurs/Chelsea isn't bad.

I love that City get screwed for the second year in a row. I guess A is the most open group.

Napoli got a nice group in the Europa League draw. We should definitely progress with PSV Eindhoven.

Atletico Beats Chelsea in Super Cup 4-1 as Falcao Scores Three

Radamel Falcao scored three goals in the first half to lead Spain’s Atletico Madrid to a 4-1 victory over Champions League winner Chelsea in the Super Cup, European soccer’s traditional curtain raiser.

Falcao, a 26-year-old Colombian, stunned the English team with a clinical display of finishing at the Stade Louis II in Monte Carlo, beating goalkeeper Petr Cech in the 6th, 19th and 45th minutes for his second straight hat trick. The former Porto striker also found the net three times in Atletico’s 4-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league four days ago. Marca Miranda also scored.

It was the final Super Cup played in Monaco, the event’s home since it was established as a one-game meeting between the winners of Europe’s top two club competitions in 1998. Next year’s match will be played in Prague before moving to Cardiff.

After going to St. Anthony's feast last week, I am now the owner of a SSC Napoli T-shirt and I just ordered RAI Italia for the month...  so Um, Congrats Phil.....Smiley

My brother is actually at San Siro today for Inter v. Roma.  Maybe I will be arbitrarily an Inter supporter now...

Haha, Roma grabbed a big away win. Sorry for you and your brother.  Tongue

But Napoli just won, grabbing all three points again and remain at the top of the table. I'm really hoping the streak continues since I'll be at the San Paolo when they play next! Cheesy
