"The FBI probed a late-night swim in the Sea of Galilee that involved drinking, numerous GOP freshmen lawmakers, top leadership staff – and one nude member of Congress, according to more than a dozen sources, including eyewitnesses.

During a fact-finding congressional trip to the Holy Land last summer, Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-Kan.) took off his clothes and jumped into the sea, joining a number of members, their families and GOP staff during a night out in Israel, the sources told POLITICO. Other participants, including the daughter of another congressman, swam fully clothed while some lawmakers partially disrobed. More than 20 people took part in the late-night dip in the sea, according to sources who were participants in the trip."

"These GOP sources confirmed the following freshmen lawmakers also went swimming that night: Rep. Steve Southerland (R-Fla.) and his daughter; Rep. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.) and his wife; Reps. Ben Quayle (R-Ariz.), Jeff Denham (R-Calif.) and Michael Grimm (R-N.Y.)."

So, drunken swimming and even skinny dipping, into the actual lake where Jesus walked on water... is this going to turn into something big?

Is this story a joke?  What the F is wrong with swimming nude, particularly late at night? Heck I swim nude during the day sometimes at the beach where I can get away with it. Just why is the FBI investigating this?  Do they even have jurisdiction as to what happens outside the US?

The problem with this isn't the skinnydipping or the other shenanigans, but the fact that the participants have the nerve to describe this as a "fact-finding mission" - which we all know is a euphemism for having lobbyists pay for all the booze and swag you can get.

I've been to Israel before. I didn't feel the need to take off all my clothes.

This was an AIPAC funded vacation for the Congressmen and their wives. This would probably be considered very unethical in many other countries.

Those Congressmen would probably be arrested in other countries.

It's being investigated because something something private company paying for Rep. Grimm something. I don't really understand but the nude swimming is a connected detail but not the crime.
