Will have little effect on the election other than possibly expanding the map into places like NV and PA, making those more winnable if the election ends up shifting in Romney's favor.  But it's hard to imagine Romney getting to 270 just on a money advantage.

If Obama and McCain had spent the same amount of money, Obama still would have won, he just probably wouldn't have won IN and NC.

The massive amounts of money in politics are a shame no matter which candidate it's for. It doesn't matter if you're a Democrat, Republican, libertarian, independent, or whatnot. Unless you have tens of millions of dollars to drop on an election, it directly decreases the potential influence that you can have in politics and so it's inimical to your interests.
