I am leaving on Monday morning for Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be my first trip to the Western United States. Prior to this week, the furthest west I have been is San Antonio, Texas.

I will be gone for a week.

Wow, you've never been to Yellowstone or Zion or Yosemite? Then you have never experienced the United States.

Las Vegas is a nice city to start from if you want to explore Zion, Bryce Canyon, or Death Valley. The Grand Canyon is also not particularly far from there, though that's not what I would start with.

Yup, definitely agree. The west is much more scenic than the east and you won't even realize the abundance of natural beauty in America if you don't visit the west.

Also, Las Vegas is not a nice city. Tongue

Clever. Very clever.

And Naso in Vegas? Yeah, that's not a disaster waiting to happen. Think he will meet Joe Republic?

My heart sunk when I read the title...

Have a good time! Don't gamble everything away. Smiley

If you're going to gamble my only advice is to determine in advance how much you're willing to lose and budget that towards gambling, and then cash out any "big" small winnings ($50-$200) and put it towards food or other things. I did this last year with a gambling budget of $400 and ended up only $20 down and didn't have to go into my food budget at all.

Have about 6 hours before leaving. Yeah, I've set aside about $1,300 for gambling but I am a slow gambler and I don't do tables. Just video slots. I've gambled before here in Ohio, West Virginia and in Florida. I know when to quit. I have willpower.
