As amazing as Humphrey was, Scoop Jackson was even better.  A damn shame more Democrats aren't like him today.

A man who adhered to Scoop Jackson's political ideology was elected to the Presidency quite recently, actually, in 2004.

George W. Bush was far to the right of Scoop Jackson. They're not even comparable. Jackson was a New Dealer, Bush was the product of the New Right.

Jackson is basically in the same group as Bush, Cheney, Graham, Lieberman, Lugar, McCain, Powell, Rice, Rumsfeld, and Moynihan.
