I know, it's really early. But let's speculate. In 2008 and 2012, the selection seemed to be based more on increasing the party's chance of success in that state/region than just choosing a random city. So I think they'll continue that trend, that conventions should be cities in states where they believe their parties could improve in. Here are some ideas:

2016 DNC: Phoenix, Indianapolis, Miami
2016 RNC: Columbus, Detroit

2020 DNC: Atlanta, St. Louis
2020 RNC: Pittsburgh, Milwaukee

2024 DNC: Houston, San Antonio
2024 RNC: Chicago, Philadelphia

The cities that are actually considering a bid for 2016:

Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Nashville, Newark, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City

Would be amusing if Ohio hosted both parties in 2016: Dems in Cleveland and GOP in Columbus.

I say Phoenix for the Dems, Cleveland for the GOP.
