The support is flattering!

May I suggest merely lowering the standard instead of abolishing it? We have activity requirements for other offices, too, so it would make the law rather inconsistent.

imo, The People ought to have the freedom to vote for whomever they please. If the candidate really isn't active enough, people won't vote for him/her.
This is the same reason I support the abolition of candidate residency requirements.

Fair enough. At worst, this is definitely worth discussing at the Federal level.

Recent deregistrations have lowered the number of signatures needed for an initiative to qualify for a referendum to 12. Having previously acquired 12 signatures, the "Torture Isn't Nice Initiative" is hereby scheduled for a November 22-24 federal referendum election.
