Or even think he isn't a bit extreme on social issues?  Because I haven't seen any on here (besides Phil).

Meh, he was okay. I agree with him on a lot of issues but the whole Americana/Enlightenment/Inalienable-Rights-From-God-Not-Government nonsense he spend half his time talking about a was a bit much. I'd say I like him but don't think he's a very good politician.

In a room where he is absolutely hated like the Atlas that distinction tends to blur rather quickly.

I like Santorum. It Takes A Family is actually a pretty good book. Santorum just has a tendency to speak his mind (Bidenitis?) on social issues, so he comes off as a really extremist guy. So I think people overstate that. That being said, he is still definitely a lot heavier on a lot of those issues than I am, but I like him well enough.

But yeah, I don't really buy into that whole Americana thing. But whatever. I like the rest of what he says.

Didn't Clarence support him right after Gingrich dropped out?

Yeah, he's alright.

Too far to the right socially for me, but the man himself seems okay.

I'm not a Republican but I respected Santorum for standing up for his beliefs - unlike Romney, who only stands for his own advantage - and because he seems like a wonderful father.

I like Santorum.  I'm not fully supportive of his positions on the social issues, but since he would never be able to get those into effect, that doesn't bother me.  I'm not in love with the man as Phil seems to be, but if he'd won the nomination instead of Romney, I'd be voting Republican in November.

Exactly how I feel. Always thought he was a decent guy, just disagree with him about some things.

Though I would have voted for him in 2006. No doubt.

I don't like him much, and I say this as a socially conservative Republican.  But I, likewise, would have voted for him in 2006 (as well as his first two Senate campaigns).

I can say quite confidently that if Mitt Romney were not running in 2012, I would have quite contently voted for Rick Santorum.

Rick Santorum comes from a Communist family, and it shows when he talks about that.

Which actually may explain why I like him probably more than I should...

I think Santorum is a great guy, and I think his political views are mostly sound.
