After thinking (probably too much) about it, I think these are my top 15 albums

1. A Night At The Opera - Queen (1975)
One of the most fun, listenable, diverse albums in existence. Took a formula like the White Album, exceptionally covering many styles, stripped the filler, and took rock to its heights.
2. The Wall - Pink Floyd (1979)
The best rock-opera ever got.
3. The Second Stage Turbine Blade - Coheed And Cambria (2002)
Ground-breaking mix of punk and prog, two seemingly incompatible styles. Brimming with creativity and youthful energy.
4. Close To The Edge - Yes (1972)
Simply the peak of classic progressive rock. Unmatched, mind-blowing virtuosity highlighted with moments of incredible beauty.
5. The Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd (1973)
Never has an album better delved into the most unsettling aspects of the human mind.
6. Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness -
Coheed And Cambria (2005)
Probably the album in which Coheed perfected their punk/pop/prog fusion. Probably just as good as their debut, ever so slightly lower due to originality factors.
7. Queen II - Queen (1974)
The best of the dark side of Queen. Maybe even a better album than A Night At The Opera in a technical sense, just not as diverse.
8. The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance (2006)
Not really a fan of anything else they did. I have no idea how they were able to put this together but it's a masterpiece.
9. Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From A Memory - Dream Theater (1999)
I don't know what to say other than... just awesome in so many ways.
10. In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3 - Coheed And Cambria (2003)
Almost up to par with the other two Coheed albums on this list. Undoubtedly the most "pop" of the three, and probably the best piece of pop this century.
11. In The Court Of The Crimson King - King Crimson (1969)
Don't think I have to go into how revolutionary this one is.
12. Abbey Road - The Beatles (1969)
Absolute brilliance from front to back. Overflowing with wonderful musical ideas.
13. Tales From Topographic Oceans - Yes (1973)
Don't give what people say about this one. I don't mind that it took some real work to get into this one. Some people might hate that kind of musical philosophy, but after I cracked this one I realized it was the most beautiful album I've ever heard. Some of the passages on here are otherworldly.
14. The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (1967)
The epoch of psychedelic, f'ed-up, acid-fueled rock. The only real glimpse we got into the mind of Syd Barrett. That alone would be enough for me to love it, let alone that the songs are just great.
15. Origin Of Symmetry - Muse (2001)
Muse certainly has a style all their own. They might not deviate from it too much, but this is the best they got at it. Muse are a great band and this is where you should start if you wanted to get into them, not Absolution.

I haven't heard of all of those and I haven't listen to all those I've heard, but they seem like pretty strong albums. Close to the Edge, the Pink Floyd stuff (though out of those I've only heard and liked Dark Side), the Queen stuff, Crimson King, Abbey Road, etc.

I haven't ever really gotten into Coheed and Cambria, but I love all the other albums on your list.

Maximum respect for your choices.
Close to the Edge
was a major turning point for me - from there it was on to
Tales
and
Relayer
- though I would personally take the violent majesty of "The Gates of Delirium" over the music on
Tales
any day. Great to see
Crimson King
on your list too. There's nothing quite like that one.
