The most common places people my age I've known have gone to in a rough order are...

New York, NY and its neighboring areas
Washington, DC
Boston, MA
Charlotte, NC
Raleigh, NC
Los Angeles, CA
Atlanta, GA
Miami, FL

Everyone from here stays in Melbourne, or at least  returns. Some older people move to the bush, but still within a couple of hours from Melbourne. A couple of friends are doing some time up in the NT, in Arnhem land and Alice Springs. Apparently people move to Queensland, but I only know two, one who is there for uni, but she intends to come back here afterwards. The other is my uncle, who has lived in Brisbane my whole life. I know a couple of people who moved to Sydney for a few years, and I moved to Canberra for a few years, but pretty much everyone who moves away goes to London, Berlin, or NYC, and they have all returned or as due to return soon.

As for the Canberrans I know, about a third have moved to Melbourne, a third have stayed in Canberra, and a third are split pretty evenly between Sydney, the rest of Australoa, and the rest of the world.

My sister is vaguely thinking of doing a year in Canada, which is also quite popular, but she'd be straight back to Melbourne afterwards.

Based on my high school reunion it seems that here in the Twin Cities is most common for moving (duh), followed by somewhere else in the Dakotas, and then Iowa, Montana, and then the coasts.

Christ, how would I know?  Assuming you mean my hometown, I really have hardly any notion.  Perhaps they're all dead.  No, no, that's not yet, right?  I'm only in my mid-forties.  Let me say, I do know one of them lives in Austria.  That is as far as I know the only interesting one, and really quite attractive for our age group, though that ski-bum lifestyle plays positive hell with your skin.  I for one avoid the outdoors, sun, wind, and in fact even daytime and daylight, and I look about 10 years younger than my actual age.  Really, no kidding.

Lancaster's a growing area. People who move out tend to go to Chester County.

People who leave Memphis frequently end up in Nashville and Atlanta. And, of course, the super cool go to California and New York, but that's true everywhere.

I couldn't care less about where 95% of my peers are headed after graduation. Likely into Philadelphia, however. The suburbs are useless.

No-one's old enough yet, though I suspect the vast majority would stay in Sydney.

I don't quite get the question.

You mean where my schoolmates have moved?  I looked up one girl I knew in elementary school on Facebook a while back, and she lived somewhere in CA other than the L.A. metro area.  A lot of the people I was "friends" with in elementary school are still around, and last I heard go to the same community college as me.

Overall I don't really care about them.
